Propane In Your Home

Recently, a friend asked me, "People don't heat their homes with propane, do they?". Indeed, they do! Propane is the most clean burning, cost effective, non-toxic fuel available. There are five possible sources for propane in your home:

- Boiler

- Fireplace

- Water Heater

- Clothes Dryer

- Stove/Oven

- Bonus: Back Up Generator!

Yea, but is it safe? Propane tank explosion is extremely rare. There must be between 2.2 to 9.6 percent LPG vapor in the air to ignite. The source of ignition has to reach 940 degrees Fahrenheit. That being said, LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) has a remarkable safety record due to stringent regulations. It is very important that your tanks be certified by an approved business, such as Propane Alaska LLC. See our safety flyer.

Here is a video of a green home utilizing propane.
