ABOUT

Welcome to Fat Cat!

Like every Fat Cat, we believe in the good things in life: long naps, good meals and a delectable ball of catnip to chase after. That’s right, we think our customers can have it all! So while you may not find catnip on our menu, we do offer up something for everyone.

Our hand-tossed pizzas are made fresh to order and baked crisp in our brick oven. All of our menu items are homemade from fresh ingredients, purchased locally whenever possible. Everything from cocktails to croutons are made by hand, right here in our kitchen.

Welcome to the Family

Phil Wood, Manager

Phil was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and raised in the North Pole area with his four brothers and one sister. He can usually be found in his shop working on trucks or snowmachines. Phil likes to make them go fast. With four children of his own, and four grandchildren cheering him on, things can get pretty exciting!

As a young adult, Phil worked for various propane companies in Fairbanks. In 1994, he started Hometown Propane. After successfully selling in 2001, he quickly recognized the lack of local in the fuel industry. So, he started The Fuel Company in 2005. Still thriving, he jumped on board as a Manager, with his son, for Propane Alaska, wanting to bring local back to propane!

Philip Wood Jr, Operations Manager

Most know him as Chipper, born and raised in North Pole, Alaska. Growing up, Chipper found happiness in shadowing his Dad. Whether at work, the racetrack, or hockey games. He loves tinkering on his toys, closely follows the NHL and plays in the local Men's League. Chipper enjoys adventures with his family such as fishing, camping, hunting, and snow machining.

Chippers love for propane was instilled working at Hometown Propane as a teen. At the age of twenty one, he purchased a dump truck and started PNW Enterprises. While operating his business, he obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration at University of Alaska Fairbanks. After later incorporating asphalt paving, he sold in 2016. Watching his two children grow, he craved a more balanced lifestyle. In 2016, he started Propane Alaska LLC. He hopes to provide his town with a friendly, honest, affordable option.

Traci Wood, Bookkeeper/Marketing Manager

Traci has lived in Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska for most of her life. Growing up with one sister and one brother, life was never dull. She enjoys running, finds peace in all outdoor activities, even more so when her two children and husband join in. When time allows, cooking and baking are plentiful!

Before children, Traci worked as an Accountant after obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After staying home for several years, she is excited to bring fresh ideas and old knowledge to Propane Alaska LLC.
